Orange, red and yellow are generally what spring to mind when one considers October colors. But instead of rocking those autumnal hues, think pink instead. It is Breast Cancer Awareness Month after all.

The use of pink to symbolize breast cancer awareness started in 1992, and came in the form of an overlapping ribbon. It was meant to show solidarity with those that have been impacted by the disease, which affects one in every eight women in the United States. Needless to say, over the years, the use of the color has evolved and it is now cast on a number of items—many of which are made with the intention to give monetary support to organizations that are either developing a cure, providing education, or are assisting patients and their families during troubling times.

From Ralph Lauren to New Balance to Mackage, a number of fashion brands are giving back to charitable institutions like the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, the Breast Cancer Research FoundationKeep A Breast Foundation and more. There are even events across the nation—such as last week’s Dream Ball that raised funds for Look Good Feel Better. Indeed, it appears that a good number of companies are on board for battling this disease. And you can play a part by checking out the products below.

Ralph Lauren

Since 2000, Ralph Lauren’s Pink Pony Campaign has been at the forefront of fighting breast cancer. It supports programs that run the spectrum—from screenings and early diagnosis to treatment and education. This year, as part of the its Pink Pony collection, the brand is offering a range of preppy stalwarts—hats, ruby shirts, scarves, crew-neck sweaters and bomber jackets—in a light pink hue. 25% of the each of these items will go toward supporting a number of charities. Additionally, there is a graphic T-shirt with the words “Live Love” that’ll donate 100% of the proceeds to the Polo Ralph Lauren Foundation.

Tamara Mellon

Tamara Mellon is walking down a different path for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Rather than offering a product that gives back, which seems to be the requisite practice, she is taking the message of getting regular checkups on the road—specifically in the Los Angeles area. From October 8th to the 10th, her brand is taking over a mobile mammogram RV and offering free mammograms to women in Tinseltown. It will also gift T-shirts that reads “Love Your Mellons” to women who tag a friend on social media, reminding her to get tested.
